Steady-state limiting currents at finite conical microelectrodes.

The investigation of steady-state diffusion-limiting currents at finite conical microelectrodes is reported. Such electrodes are of particular interest as probes in studies of kinetic reactions, measurements in microenvironments, and high-resolution electrochemical imaging. The diffusion-limiting currents were calculated using numerical (finite element) analysis and compared to those obtained a...

Modelling of the migration effect occurring ISFET-based coulometric sensor-actuator system

The migration effect, in addition to diffusion, occurring at an ion-selective field-effect transistor (ISFET)-based coulometric sensor-actuator system has been studied. A diffusion-migration model is presented, based on the numerical solution of the Nemst-Planck equations of which a digital simulation is realized. Corresponding experiments were carried out and compared with the simulation. The ...

Modeling Self-Diffusion in Mixed-Solvent Electrolyte Solutions

A comprehensive model has been developed for calculating self-diffusion coefficients in mixedsolvent electrolyte solutions. The model includes methods for calculating the self-diffusion coefficients of ions and neutral species at infinite dilution and for predicting the effect of finite concentrations of electrolytes. For limiting diffusivities, a mixing rule has been developed for predicting t...

A unifying mode-coupling theory for transport properties of electrolyte solutions. I. General scheme and limiting laws.

We develop a general method for calculating conduction-diffusion transport properties of strong electrolyte mixtures, including specific conductivities, steady-state electrophoretic mobilities, and self-diffusion coefficients. The ions are described as charged Brownian spheres, and the solvent-mediated hydrodynamic interactions (HIs) are also accounted for in the non-instantaneous ion atmospher...

Impressive Reduction of Dark Current in InSb Infrared Photodetector to achieve High Temperature Performance

Infrared photo detectors have vast and promising applications in military, industrial and other fields. In this paper, we present a method for improving theperformance of an infrared photodetector based on an InSb substance. To achieve goodperformance at high temperatures, thermal noise and intrusive currents should bereduced. For this purpose, a five-layer hetero structu...
